Philippa recently availed of WorkEqual’s career coaching, mentoring, and CV support services. Here, she shares her experience:

WorkEqual has been an invaluable source of support to me and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have arisen from the wonderful range of services on offer.

After a three-year career break as a stay-at-home parent, the prospect of taking a new career direction was daunting. I was referred to WorkEqual through my engagement with a programme called ‘Careers In Mind’, and I was made to feel so welcome and valued in every interaction.

I accessed a wide range of services including career coaching, mentoring sessions, CV support and various fantastic workshops – each one meeting my needs perfectly and exceeding my expectations.

The whole process has been incredibly empowering and focused on building confidence and identifying the steps I needed to move forward. It was also really powerful to have a safe space to share with other women, who were experiencing the same thoughts and feelings.

The careers coaching was particularly empowering. It really helped me to focus on the direction I wanted to take and reflect on my strengths and transferable skills. It was also an excellent way to increase my networks and build social capital, as someone relatively new to Ireland.

My engagement also led to an exciting job opportunity, and I felt fully prepared and supported for the interview process.

I’m really excited to be re-entering the workplace and WorkEqual has played a significant part in this journey. It’s such a fantastic resource; professional, supportive and friendly, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
